Pavement Improvement

JAL – The New Mexico Department of Transportation District Two will improve 7 miles of pavement along the N.M. 18 corridor in Lea County. The project includes 7 miles of pavement preservation work from mile marker 0 to mile marker 7 near Jal.

Shallow milling work will take place this spring then a surface treatment will follow this summer. This type of work is very weather dependent and affects the scheduling of work.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation District Two wants to remind motorists to drive safely through work zones, “Safe roads for all. Protect workers. Protect road users. We can do it!”
