TESTING
All testing ends an hour before closing
Written Tests

• Written Tests may be taken any day of the week
• The Testing Fee is $6.00 per test
• Test may be taken twice in a week
• Upon a third failure, you must wait 6 months to retest from the first test date 
• Test is valid for 5 years 
• Testing ends an hour before closing

Driving Tests

• Driving Tests are by walk-in on Mondays and Wednesdays 
• Testing ends an hour before closing. 
• You will need to bring a form of identification, current registration and insurance for the vehicle you will use for the test.
• Driving Test Fee is $10.00

Commercial Drivers Licenses

• Only CDL renewals and CDL written testing are offered.
• CDL licenses can be obtained in larger MVD offices in the surrounding areas. (CDL driving tests are offered at the New Mexico Junior College by appointment.)

OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle)

The City of Jal has adopted an Ordinance No. 2021-005 authorizing the use of recreational off-highway vehicles (OHVs). 
If you intend to operate an ATV or ROV on a paved road, it is your responsibility to inquire with the local authority
where you plan to ride and verify use is legal and allowed.
